Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP)
Over 70 billion dollars in cash is produced in this building every year. The BEP is open for public tours Monday through Friday, except holidays, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, June through August, evening tours continue from 5:00 pm to 6:40 pm. During its peak season (March through September) tour tickets are required for the public. Visitors during the non-peak season (October through February) line up at the 14th Street side of the main building and enter first-come, first-served. During the peak season tickets can be picked up from the BEP ticket booth located on Raoul Wallenberg Place. The ticket booth is open Monday through Friday, escpet holidays, from 8:00 am until 1:45 pm, or until all tickets are given out . During the months of June through August, the ticket booth will reopen at 3:30 pm until 6:30 pm (or until the supply of tickets has been depleted) to accommodate evening tour hours. Tickets are given out in 20minute increments and are distributed for same day tours only. There is a limit of 50 tickets per person. Once inside the BEP, the tours last approximately 35 minutes. Congressional tours of the BEP are conducted Monday through Friday, except holidays, at 8:15 am and 8:45 am (June through August, a 4:00 pm tour is offered as well). Senators are not limited to a maximum number of Congressional tours per week, and may sponsor up to10 guests per tour, pending availability. |
