United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
The Holocaust Memorial Museum tells the story of the holocaust in its three floor permanent exhibit; of special note are the Tower of Faces, and actual barracks from Auschwitz, video taped testimony, and The Hall of Remembrance. The museum is open to the public daily, except Yom Kippur and Christmas Day, from 10:00 am to 5:20 pm. Tickets are not required to enter the museum but are required for admission to the self-guided, permanent exhibition. Tickets are free of charge and are distributed daily from the Museum Box Office on a first-come, first-served basis from 10:00 am to 4:15 pm (or until the supply of tickets has been depleted). Tickets are given out in 15minute increments and are distributed for same day tours only. One person may obtain up to four tickets. Visitors may also order up to 10 tickets in advance by phoning ProTix at 1-800-400-9373 or visit them online by clicking here. ProTix charges a $1.75 service fee per ticket and a single $1.00 handling fee for each order. These fees compensate ProTix for providing the service; the tickets themselves are still free of charge. For more information, call (202) 488-0400.
