Created as an experimental plant life center in 1927, 444 acres of beautiful flowers and trees blossom here yearly.

The Arboretum grounds are open daily, except Christmas Day, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Administration Building and the Information Center are open on weekdays from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and on weekends for scheduled events only. Volunteer guide service is maintained by the National Capitol Area Federation of Garden Clubs. For more information, call (202) 245-2726.
