Streets, NE "Equal Justice Under Law" is the promise on the portals of the Supreme Court building. The U.S. Supreme Court is open to the public Monday through Friday, except holidays, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Free public lectures are scheduled each day that the Court is open and not hearing oral argument. These lectures are presented at 9:30 am, 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:30pm, and 3:30pm. The lectures usually last 25 minutes. Reservations are not required and are not accepted. For more information call (202) 479-3499. Courtroom seats are available to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis when the Court is in session, which runs generally from early October through April.
