US
Marine Corps Memorial
Information
This memorial is
dedicated to all Marines who have given their lives in the defense
of the United States since 1775. The statue depicts one of the
most famous incidents of World War II and stands as a symbol
of this nation's esteem for the honored dead of the U.S. Marine
Corps.
On Tuesday evenings
in the summer, at 7:00 pm, there are military parades on the
grounds and the Marine Drum & Bugle Corp and the Silent
Drill Platoon perform a flag lowering ceremony.
